happened to my over-qualified enthusiastic registrar

lesson learned

you can always argue on what is the best management for a patient

and if nobody is able to do a complicated procedure (that you can do) sometimes you ended up doing it as a favour for others

somehow it can still end disastrous

any complications that occur will be blamed onto you (esp with the initial argument..)

you do the best but SHIT HAPPENS

out of 99 things you did there will always be one where you did badly but somehow get good outcome…..  and one where you did very well but get catastrophic outcome

out of 99 patients you have there will be one you did not treat well enough but is very grateful… and one where you treated really well but complained

in emergency, if it is not your task but you are the only one who can help ->  choose wisely whether to help or not!! (you might get into trouble if complication occurs or even get into argument with colleagues; but remember the priority will always be the patient)

if things can wait.. just wait..
