patient very unwell

consultant ward round

visited patient; observed patient for a few minutes

then say i’ve to do wt i’ve to do

examined patient wrist, neurovascularly intact

dictated patient very unwell and under medical review

leave

(away from patient, mentioned patient will not die, will need ….etc etc – most of them was done in the ward longgg time ago, not now.. he knows..)

patient died few hrs later

i remember him telling me – we should not forget we are doctors!

what is being a doctor now?

but i cant blame my consultant – he has to do his job …..  has he?
